Art is one way to help connect people to science. With funding from the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota, we have been collaborating with artists on a variety of different projects.
Annie Rosenthal has been working on botanical drawings of common species of Santa Rosa, and these will appear in an informal field guide we are working on “Notas de Campo” or “Field Notes”.
Wallace Alexander (in the bike helmet) is helping us with the design, and it will look something like this below:
We are also working with Damond Kyllo, who has been creating a coloring book called Conexiones, that describes the intricate web of connections among organisms and ecosystems in the Guanacaste Conservation Area.
